Since completing my work on BUBO, I’ve had lot of fun playing around with a variety of different mediums in personal projects and commission work. The overall goal is to improve as an artist, define my style and find which mediums I enjoy working with the most. This is the background oil painting for my upcoming animation project. It’s based on a picture I took in The Narrows, a gorgeous trail attached to Zion National Park. I painted it with the intention of having a character round the corner and interact with an object in the foreground. A proof of concept of that can be found in the Animation page.

The Third piece in my Coffee series, I loved the idea of a French Press used as a torture device and used the concept to test how ink and watercolor can work together. My initial thought was to have this be more ink dominate and to rely on cross hatching. I got some last minute inspiration from a book of Art Nouveau paintings and decided to make my ink work more decorative and give the color more space to shine through.

This was a fun commission I made for the podcast ‘Gentlemen Prefer Bonds’ which takes a deep dive of every Bond film and several Bond-adjacent films as well.
